Case Study 2

Political and personality barriers to sale of national tech champion.

A large US Global Tech company is trying to buy a smaller UK rival, that is in part government owned. Negotiations have dragged on for years and are now bogged down because of political opposition and a personal enmity between the owners of the two businesses. If the deal were to complete the UK taxpayer would get a significant return on their investment and the US firm would have greater market share. There would also be much needed investment in the smaller business, resulting in hundreds of high paid tech jobs in the UK. Through decades of experience Datrys is able to address the personality and political issues that are frustrating resolution of the dispute. The mediation would be designed around these two issues to give the best chance to a successful outcome for all.
